XTide is a software application designed to provide tide and current predictions, featuring an Apple Watch app and Widget that display information for selected, nearby tide stations. This application is built on the well-regarded open-source XTide project for Unix, available at <a href="http://www.flaterco.com/xtide/introduction.html">Flaterco</a>.

Currently, XTide offers a harmonics file solely for the United States, a limitation imposed by legal restrictions on data from other nations. However, it does allow users to utilize custom harmonics files for more localized predictions. For further details on these functionalities, refer to the FAQ section at <a href="https://flaterco.com/xtide/faq.html#60">Flaterco FAQ</a>.

XTide is made available with the intent of being useful; however, it is distributed without any guarantees, including an implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. The author does not assume any liability for damages resulting from the use of this program or any associated harmonics data. Users are encouraged to consult the GNU General Public License for additional details.

It is important to note that accurate tide predictions are contingent upon the quality of the harmonics data relevant to the specific location. The maintainer of this data can only identify inaccuracies through reports from users who have access to authoritative tide predictions or observations. Users should refrain from using this program or any distributed data files in situations where mispredictions could result in harm. For certified tide predictions, agencies such as NOAA or similar organizations in other countries should be consulted.

Additionally, XTide's predictions do not account for variables such as tropical storms, El Niño, seismic activities, subsidence, uplift, or fluctuations in global sea level.
